Another day, another scan

I’m wary of writing about personal health matters because (a) they’re personal, and (b) unless the outlook is terminal who’s interested in reading about a minor, age-related issue that is hardly unique?

Nevertheless, this blog is both a personal and a professional diary so, at risk of over-sharing, here’s a quick update.

Following a recent MRI scan, I was ‘invited’ to undergo a further (CT) scan to investigate a small polyp on my pelvis. (My father, when he was the same age as me, had something similar and it was removed, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing were to happen to me.)

I’ve had a CT scan before and it’s a doddle compared to an MRI scan, so on Friday I was in and out of the treatment centre within 20 minutes. In fact, it was so quick I even qualified for free parking in the hospital car park.

Next week however I have another appointment so they can investigate something else, something the MRI analysis referred to as “indeterminate”. Watch this space!
