Welcome to taking-liberties.uk

Taking Liberties has moved. We’ve also given it a makeover. And a new URL.

The previous platform, Squarespace 5, was released in 2008 and transferring the blog to the current version, 7.1, was long overdue.

The downside is that we had to create a new site and give it a new URL (taking-liberties.uk). As a result, the previous URL is now obsolete, although the (old) site will remain live for now.

In the meantime we have transferred to this platform every post I have written since the previous site was launched in January 2011 – a total of 3,312 posts. (They are listed in reverse chronological order on the Search page.)

We had to transfer text and images onto a new template that works on multiple devices – desktop, laptop, tablet and smart phone. Even with expert help it’s quite difficult (and frustrating!) so, if you find some anomalies in terms of the layout on different devices, that’s the reason.

What you won’t find here are the 1,282 posts I published on the original Taking Liberties blog, from its launch in March 2007 to January 2011. If you’re interested they can be found here.

Meanwhile, to those who have found their way to this site, thank you … and welcome.
