A hero for our times
In the spirit of Christmas I’m pleased to report that Sheila Duffy, CEO of ASH Scotland, has been presented with a prestigious national award.
It’s not the gong she truly deserves (and still eludes her) but in the absence of royal recognition it’s the next best thing.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Chartered Trading Standards Institute this week announced that Sheila ‘has received the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) Special Recognition Award at their annual Hero Awards, held this year in the House of Lords’.
The Special Recognition Award acknowledges an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to supporting Trading Standards or advancing consumer protection. It is reserved for work that has strengthened enforcement, shaped national understanding of key issues or provided sustained support to the profession.
Horatio Nelson, Florence Nightingale, Winston Churchill, Alexander Fleming, Margaret Thatcher … National idols all, and now we can add the CEO of ASH Scotland to the list.
A hero for our times!
